Mark try 2 things with the front gear case

Replace the three 3x8mm screws with 3x12 and also add .1-.3mm shim between the crown and bearing to help tighten the lash

Peter is running no shim and needed a real good board tap to get the clicks I was running .3 and a light tap did it.

The main cause of failure is a board tap on high traction since most are running indoors or for those goldenchildren(Rod and Madjack) who live in SoCal then jumping the curbs at Tamiya America. It seems to be a freespin with a solid landing putting a big shock load through the drivetrain

Default Damage...bring forth the big hurt!

Damage report: Well, let's see...

The 414M2 suffered a broken chassis and suspension blocks when the screws tore through and out the rear end of the chassis. The rear toe block is bent and I'm missing a bunch of those magical shims. This is from a rear impact (plowing) by another car. Prior to this, I replaced the rear shock tower, diff halves, front rear block, and center oneway from a major shunt into a pole when the shock tower collapsed exiting a 180 causing the car to hook into the aluminum bat...errr pole. Lessons learned, give up on a high roll center setup and try to be quick with the suspension blocks as close to the chassis as possible. Two sets of new tires/wheels bent and mangled.

The Evo3 suffered a little bit less damage. The inner camber link screws (Ti) are bent on one side. One bent aluminum universal shaft, drivetrain REALLY clicking. The salvaged set of tires from the 414M2's fiasco are completely warped/cracked. And a bruised ego

Also, I vented a brand new set of really good UMH cells in my second qualifier.

Dan, I've been mostly cured from the 5 minute standing comas, however, there have been a few times when everything kinda feels foreign to me. You know you're up on the stand, and you begin the think to yourself: Is this how I hold my radio? Is this my radio? Why does my steering wheel feel so squishy and soft? Why does it feel like there's a 4 second lag between me and my car? Is this my car? Why can't i maintain a race line, why does my head feel so light? Why is everything getting fuzzy? Doh! I'm in a coma again!

My knees lock up when I'm in the stand, and my eyes start to flicker, my jaws seem to lock up too...what do you call that? a 5 minute seizure?

Default Spur gears!!

Will the RW spur gearsfit and also will a 100 tooth spur fit? With a small modification of the top plate-can you make a 100 tooth fit?

I have not used the RW spur gears but I dont see why they would not work. 108 tooth spur is the largest spur you can use with out the gear extending below the chassis.

You can probably use one from the TA04 or 414M series or punch a hole on your car body.

Now that Team TRF are using evo3s, Hope they allow 414m2s to compete in TCS, or ban the evo3 on the TCS.
