I find out both in time....When I get the car. I'll try the diff out of the TB Evo & if that doesn't work I'll lube it back up and put it back. Then I'll get some TB-02 outdrives/F201 D-rings and whatever else I may need & frankenstien it from a TC3 diff....If that fails I'll get the TA04 diff and piece it together

the tb-01/tb-10 ball diff will not work in the evo 3 as the ring gear is physically bigger. about the only thing in the tb-01/tg-10 ball diff you could use in it are the diff balls. The method suggested by WC is your best bet.

Can I just get the nessesary outdrives/d-rings and put the one-way gear in there....pull the screw, bearing, spring and nut out of a TC3 and whoosh! Instant-diff
Or (easiest route) Shoe-goo the one-way into a spool. How will a spool effect this car's handling....I've never run a spool before on anything....

Hey I just got my Evo III SL, and Love it but...... I was at the track today and I noticed a clicking noise... Well it got worse when I stuck a KR in to keep up with everyone else... Anyhow So I did a number on my front oneway gear. Is there any way to prevent this gear from shreading? I bought this car used and when I went over it, it seemed to be in Awsome shape.. Its has the square racing center shaft on it.. Do I need to shim the drive train some place to prevent this in the future.. Thanks for the help...

I got the TB-02 outdrives...Thrust bearings, F-201 d-rings & diff screw from Speedtech R/C last night.....I couldn't get the beveled gear or the 3mm diff balls (out of both)
Where the hell do I get a bevel gear...I don't think I can use the one off the one-way Will the Pro-4 or the TC3 bevel gear work?

read all the past 200 past pages of this thread... its just not
possible to condense all our past gear-stripping cures into
a simple one-paragrapher...
Different methods work for different ppl... right now I haven't
replaced a gear for a very long while now - I have tried everything
other than buying the alloy Square gearboxes.
As DZ mentions Tamiya has brought out a thicker gear.
But... I also have an example of this gear with 8 missing teeth!
So evidently that is not the cure.
I'd go buy the longer shaft first though.

The kit gave 3 of each gear, plenty of spares.
When you buy spare bevel pinions you'll also get the diff gear.
No you can't use the one-way's gear on the diff, hole too big.
(but you can cut the diff gear to fit onto the oneway if needed)

Its as if there's no punch out of the corners, no fun at all.
I have no explanation for it. I have tried many combinations of
tight front, loose back diff and viceversa, still no cigar.
(even wierder, I retrofitted oneway to a TA04 but it didn't
give it any extra punch like it does to an EvoIII)
I like the oneway better.
(Handbrake turns thru tight corners is handy sometimes too!!)
Stripping never stranded me in a race ever, so I don't have
any hard feelings about the diff gear. I open the front gearbox
every so often just to have a checkl if there's any dented teeth
I clean them up with the knife and reinstall it. I'd only replace
the whole gear when there's like 10-12 teeth gone, or more
than 3 in a row.
My twin-diff EvoIII is doing drift duty now.
The other grip racers run oneways.

And one spare bevel pinion.
First thing I'd do on receiving the car... check the hingepins.
(take them out, roll them on your ultra-flat setup board)
I have a dire feeling you'll be finding at least one bent one.
Buy new ones & keep lots spare, they're dirt cheap anyway.
