Hey Stonedgti :
Now, the reason it strips is because the shaft spins and strips out the inside of the small bevel gear, causing it to be out of round and in turn strips the big bevel gear. I'm ok with that, because it really took a beating before stripping.

I had that problem....
easy fix. put the front pinion on the shaft and drill right through the 2 of them ( pinion and shaft.) pin it in there and you'll be set.
just make sure the pin is short enough not to foul the bearing.
oh, and then you have to load everything in from the front, but that's not so bad, it won't spin the front pinion gear off the shaft again !!!!

Hi Hawker, no worries man. But if i were you, i would switch to 48p gears as Heavy is always there with available pinions....but only in 48p.

Even the box stock setup of yellows all round (spring/sway) is a good place to start, might not be aggressive enough for you, but will not get you into trouble. Play with 60-80t oils to provide enough damping.

Rick is retired and has been working there off and on and he wanted a bigger role in running the track. So he approached Venture and asked if they wanted a partner and at first they said no then they asked if he was serious and sold him the whole thing. I think Rick will do a great job, he is dedicated to making the track the best around and he will be working to get some ROAR events.

Who knows maybe he will be able to run a Tamiya race? From what I hear they are not too far from Trackside and it would not interfear with his current schedule. I don't know the size but he probably be mobbed with TCS racers if he did this.

I talked to Rick about that. He is definitely open to the idea. I will be lobbying for one and I know there are other TCS racers that run here as well. I think he would have a great turnout and I don't think it will affect Trackside at all. It would give us a second TCS race in the Midwest and I know I would race at both and so would every one else. There could be one early on the schedule and one later on the schedule closer to the Nats. I know if people show up with their F1 cars he will run a class for them.

I donīt think very much people will use the T27 tires. But there is a very good carpet setup for rubber tires developed by German Champion Marc Rheinard. Usually itīs my basic setup and I work from there depending on track and tires. You can find it here http://www.swebs.dk/
itīs the setup for CS27 tires

I just tried and it was working for me. Hereīs the complete link http://www.swebs.dk/evo3-ger-nats-carpet.pdf

I know itīs a control tyre. We have used this one also two or three years ago. Unfortunately itīs not a slick tire and doesnīt have very much grip when compared with newer tires. But I think there will be no setup specially for the T27.

If this setup doesnīt work at all maybe you could try it here http://www.rcracechat.com/forum/
Itīs an UK based forum maybe you could ask there at the touring car or Tamiya section regarding a setup for the T27 tires. I know the T27 was used in the UK also as a control tire but Iīm not sure if they still use this tire.
