the r3 looks as if they just sprinkled gliter on it.

i just finished rebuilding my evo replaceing some parts and stuff. i havent replaced much since i first got it in june.

new motor mount sink , upper sink , the front stiffener in aliminum, new gear cases , diff gears bearings ( only needed to replace 2 but i got a full set for spares, new lower deck, prop shaft, screws and some other bits n bobs.

i got a 11second spin count on my drive train , it feels so smooth and nice its un beliveable. maybe becasue after the 7th of september ( that was my last race ) i taken it all apart and left it. i cleaned everything soaked the bearing and everything . now i got my parts earlier this week and im givieng it a thourough rebuild for the winter its going exellent. im really impressed.

now im going to give my chassis a brake in, not sure what the best way is though to tell the truth?

any one , any ideas?

Tarnj- use a silver can motor with about any gear ratio (maybe 6.0) and run it on a stand at about 2.5-4 volts for at least 4 hours. Most guys are running them all night long to break everything in. The bearings will last longer believe it or not. I put some red Dynamite setup wheels on mine to break it in- they seem to be better balanced than anything else I have and they produce a slight load on the motor. I would suggest breking the car in with the front diff shimmed just a hair on the tight side so it can settle in and then you reshim it after the break in period.

Is that Over The Top ??
Went to the website but not very much info available. Don't even know what thickness these are or whether they suggest using them for race purposes.
Diffuser, really glad to have you back in the Tamiya family !!! Sooo...can you spill the beans about who the other company is??
These all may be a bit of overkill but for those of us who like to do promotional activities, all that "Glam" doesn't hurt!!!

EVOracer thanks, glad to be back. As for the company I have been asked not to for now they do produce other parts for Tamiya cars along with Yok, HPI and a few others with a well respected name.

I have sent a SEVO to them along with suggestions on some changes, I am hoping to see proto's in a few weeks.

BTW those who have sat on the fence on the Square gearboxes they are well worth the money I have Peter R's old ones and they make a huge difference in stiffness. I ran a double top deck along with the Squares and the car was alot more consistent than before.

thats really cool!! how do the gear cases do for your drive train , i was told they hold the bearings alot better makeing it slightly more free? True?

Most importantly though, how does it look!

They help but to tell you the truth I have stopped worrying about getting the nth free roll out of the car I run alot of Mod and just don't find the regular benefit especially locally plus the bearings just don't stand up as well.
I have a set I keep aside for bigger races though.

The bling factor is good but you gotta be fast to look real good haha
