All Tamiya part numbers that begin with 49xxx are limited edition. Japan usually only does one production run. When they are gone thats it. EVO III's are done, now you can get EVO III S. When they are gone... EVO IV

I remember some time ago I was reading about an aluminium oneway gear for the EVO3. Anybody know who makes this or tried the gear?

I'll say no...but then again I don't have the S version

Seriously from what I have seen the S is a great car with all the "special sauce" included!

i only have the regular evo3 but i would say yes it is! you'll probibly end upgrading your evo3 to evo3s specs anyhow and that will cost more! its worth it just for the Ti screws!

I believe the evil EVO S is well worth the extra $$$

1. Upgraded Ball Bearings
2. Ti hardware
3. 3mm Chassis
4. S parts - providing better GEO for suspension

All these are add ons for EVO - I currently priced out just the s parts (4 above) from Rainbow 10 and $$ come to 140 alone... huummm food for thought

The only real problem I have with my evo is with the diff gears. The car has been pretty durable otherwise

i went full speed into a pole, the pole hit the front wheel.
cracked the rim, and bent the toe block. that was the only time i've broken anything.
someone jumped the track and went head on into me once, his car broke(not a evo) mine was fine.

the gears are definently a problem area if you happen to crash once in awhile.

I've fixed this problem on my evil EVO by using Assoc Gears only the "ring" gear

In a earlier post I detailed out what it takes to do this upgrade - but it is less than you would think

what does Ti stand for anyways? Ti screws..? titanium? anyways i hav stainless steal ones that my dad got me...30 or so of each and for less than 10 hk...Ti screw set...like 100 or 200 hk? dunno but expensive!

another thing...does the spur gear carbon plate look like the one way carbon plate? and the one way carbon plate is awesome...you can get it so much tighter without bending the gear ring..so good! and is there a aluminium upper deck holder thats blue? red would make my car look really weird (it has blue unishafts, heat sink..so on
