i use as little ball diff grease as i posibly can. and when i rebuild i soak and clean all the non-plastic parts in actone. is the team AE ball diff grease too, seems smoother

hahahah.. yay! My diffs free'd up quite a lot. I ran my Body reamer through the holes a little, took out most of the binding. I'm using the silicone greast that came w/ the 1way from my old TC3.. is that ok? Sitll not as loose as I want it, but much much batter now than earlier=)

wahh so many steps! all i do is put ball diff grease on the plates and on each individual ball. then i give it a spin and afterwards i drop in some royal oil (dunno why but it works for me) and it's much better than before! also maybe try oiling the berrings...i find that helpfull too

Hello,
Iīve one problem and hope anyone of you can help me.
since last week, my rear balldiff works not good. After maximum 5 runs(Batteries) the teeth of the little gear wheel are broken. Weīve made much sings, that the diff is sitting in the middle of the gearbox anytime. But it all donīt helpīs. During one race, Iīve lost two of this gear wheels, because they were uncommen, after 3 runs.

sometimes the gear box cover is loose...check that the screws are on tight and if stripped gearbox...get new ones or get bigger screws

i was wondering if the square aluminium upperdeck holders are any different from the tamiya ones. thanx

To minimise stripping of the gear box screw holes, use machine thread screws. The wood screws tamiya supply are not really suitable for a high stress area like the gear box. This won't be an issue with the Evo3-S since it comes with machine thread titanium screws.

Got my nice surikarn edition evo 3 yesterday and have spent the last day building it, the new chassis is so much stiffer than the old one! Rick

filing chassis
Tony - what did you use to file the battery slots down - I'm a bit concerned I haven't taken enough off! Do you think it makes a lot of difference?
thanks,
Keith.
