anyone tried to fit a spur gear bigger that 96?

just wondering? i'll try once my car is built...

hmmm, ive just been looking at the spare parts card for the Evo III and it says the swing shafts are 39mm... i'll test tomorrow.

Those look like TA04 swing shafts. Might still work but they could fall out

I think 96 is about as high as you can fit without risking damage to the chassis. The spur gear is already pretty close to the upper deck. You might have to go with 48p gears if the stock ones are not suitable.

I've just realised how easy it is to get to those diffs! How I could have missed that in my praise of the Evo3 is beyond me.

Removing 3 screws that hold the gear cover allows me to get access to the diffs.

Just a question for those who have built the kit, is it really necessary to grease the diff gears with the included ceramic grease? I don't really want to since it may reduce the efficiency of the gears which are super smooth right now.

thats what i'll be working on later today... i'll be running 9x2 and 9x3's, as itchy said we may have to switch to 48pitch gears.. i'll work it out and let you know.

Part numbers:

53521 (lt. wt. diff assy) and

53379 (3mm lt. wt. diff balls)
