Default 2 gears or 4 gears in diif what does it to to the car

Title says it all I need to know what happens when you run 2 gears as oppose to running 4 spider gears. How will affect the cars on and off power steering.

Going from four to two spider gears is just like putting thinner diff oil in.

You get a little less rotating mass but have a greater chance of diff failure.
