Double spur gears and layshafts will add too much weight to the drivetrain that needed to be lighter than the conventional designs in the first place... Nice to see a (Awesomatix/wrx/Xray)x2 spurs design out there though... I would love to see an Awesomatix A700 Rc car using a planetary spur gear in the future....

Too much weight? The thing looks light as a feather. Vey interesting idea and looking forward to seeing one in person (hopefully)

I know the guy that is going to be the US Distributer. He is working on getting the website up now and should be ready to take orders soon. So it is still going on and you should start seeing these things in action over here in the states.

Pre-Orders are ongoing. First batch should arrive in ~2 weeks.

Also, new facebook page for USA distributor is facebook.com/gizmoracingusa

Default Batch 1 of kits

Hi guys! I guess the cat is out of the bag, so we'll share some more info with you.

We have established Giizmo Racing USA in order to promote and provide service for the GZ1 in the USA. We feel the best way to offer good service for the car was to build a new site dedicated to it and a few new brands that we will carry. (Axon will be here as well as EA motors and batteries). www.gizmoracingusa.com will be the web portal where we will post information, pics, set up, etc for the car.

The first batch of kits should ship to us next week. So I would expect the cars to be shipping in about 10 days. Our first order has only 3 cars left on it, so if you want to secure one, I would suggest to place an order soon. If we get more pre orders we will attempt to increase the volume of our order to match demand.

Right now the pricing is set at $669.99shipped priority mail in the USA. Depending on exchange rate of Euro vs dollar, we will adjust price accordingly. We still don't have the actual shipping cost of the cars to us, so the price is a "guesstimate". Don't expect the price to be any higher. If we are able to lower the price a bit more, we will and for those that pre order, we will issue a credit for the difference in price.

Thanks Mike. Just giving it a whirl. You have proven that believing in unconventional is a viable and now better alternative. Personally, I just think that chasing the A800s around the track with the conventional cars out there is not a fair deal anymore

BTW, we are starting to build a US team for Gizmo. If anyone is interested in becoming a part of it, you can submit a resume to [email protected] via email. We will make the decision on the team in about a week's time.
