VBC Racing D08

Had my second outing with the D08 yesterday; racing with the Regina Fastraxx crew in preparation for their WCICS event this coming weekend. The car was fantastic. Very smooth and confidence inspiring to drive. Got lots of compliments on how good the car looked on the track. Ended up nabbing tq and 1st in the amain running on low/medium grip carpet, sweep qts28 tires, and 65'x48' track.
I'll try to post my setup later today when I can get on a computer.
I really liked my D06, and the D08 is better yet. It is faster to react, is more direct, and has more steeringin the middle-off of a corner, while not losing the rear. I have not run in high traction conditions yet.

Few questions about your setup.
1 - Why is it you're running -2.5 degree camber on the front? Wouldn't you be able to attain front grip by adjusting the upper link for more camber gain?
on high grip and with the new vollante tyre this is the best solution. if traction is low or medium put them on 0 but a bit wider. new vollanet tyres like a wide front
2 - Is there a reason why you are running 0.5 mm of rear droop on the rear?
normal we run 1.5 under hub but on bumpy track we sometimes run 0.5
Cheers.

yes will work on vbc shocks, we use xray 2.7 in front and 2.6 in the back. also to help reduse tracktion roll when grip is high. realy like the new volante but there a bitch on high grip.
Also testing some more things but more info on that later ;-)

Painted up a new body for my D08 for this weekends WCICS event. Might not run it, though, since the dart adds a bit of steering over the ms6, and the D08 already has plenty of steering. I'll enter it in the comcourse competition, though, just to add some variety to all of the tribal schemed cars.

in addition to this consider Raceberry towers
To be honest I have been trying out other springs on my D07 - and I always revert to the orange and red kit springs

Musings on VBC
I find it interesting that the VBC seems to have several innovations before other manufacturers that are more mainstream - ie floating steering and keyed in blocks. I have the D07 - may skip the 08 and wait for the 09.
I do wonder if tactically VBC and other manufacturers should make it clear as and when a replacement will come out like Xray - they seem to be dominant in the UK at least - such a tactic may help boost sales. Personally I prefer cars to come out every 18 - 24 months - with upgrades in between like they did with the Cyclone and Associated cars.
I just wish I was a much better driver who did Nationals as it would help promote the car in the UK - sadly I am just a club racer - who doesn't get enough time to race as it is
