4.5 is quite short. Unless very small track and using a RPM monster like an R1 wurks.

You'll probably want to be closer to 3.9-4.2 but 4.5 is a safe start.

I'm very curious about the new silver compound plastic... is it as durable as V2 or even better?
Durability wins races.

Wondering how fast it would be to get parts from VBC Racing vs VBC Racing USA. I see VBC USA is out of stock on some items that I need. Has anyone ordered VBC Racing that lives in the USA.?

Good question, I was thinking about ordering a car from there.

It's better than the v2, I would say it's close to the excellent plastics on the ARCr10 2015
I had a great dislike for the d06 plastics, d07 slightly better, v2 better still but the silver dot that comes with the d08 are very good ( can feel the thread bite when inserting screws) don't know about the option gold dot plastic ( harder again I believe )
I have only run the d08 for one club meet so far, quite excited to get more track time with this car, lot of potential

At the moment it is going to be a Hobbywing V10, so I can get used to the extra speed.

Try gripworksrc.com. Alex is very active on these boards and has some of the best customer service.

Actually I'm not sure if he has any of the VBC D08 parts yet.

I have always had good luck from VBC RACING USA. Very quick shipping
Not sure on D08 parts yet as I have not needed any.

I am very happy with my D08 so far. The silver plastic is definitely a lot stiffer than any VBC plastic in the past.

The box set up without motor mount 1mm spacers is very "flexy" and produces so much grip you can hear the motor bog down massively even through sweepers. Very good low speed tight rotation. You definitely will not have to search for grip with the D08!

All in all, so far it is the best VBC chassis/version thus far IMO.

How is this car "VBC" compared to the Yoke BD7?
Parts is not an issue for either of the brands.
Will race on high bite asphalt.
