It was hacked.
-Who cares about hacking an RC website? Why? What benefit is there ...to hack it?

...ah, whatever. Sucks though.

a) For the lulz
b) To turn into a malware distribution platform
c) Maybe they hacked the host, and Petit RC was collateral damage

Everything is being hacked these days, there's no longer any point asking why

I'm pretty sure it was the hosting company that was hacked.

It definitely happens, here on RC Tech, we have around 80,000 registered members, & we FREQUENTLY have to deal with waves of attacks(mostly spam, but I'm sure there's also some viruses/malware among them too). The Korean stuff has been especially bad for much of this year, but that's also why our system is set up to keep them out of view of the regular members(it's our Moderated Queue, early posts for ANY member appear there first, so we mods can look through them & make sure they're legit posts to approve, & weed out the junk so you folks never have to see it). Once we started to get hit like we have this year, it no longer surprises me to see other RC sites get hit...
