Having heard from one of the other drivers in our club that the side links were a bit brittle I opted to put Associated ones on right from the start. I have had no problems and I kept my VBC ones as spares.

Just to bring up the discussion about about using a thrust bearing in the diff a few pages back, I found a place that sells 5x11x4.5 thrust bearings for under 30 cents each and bought 10 of them. Installation is easy, you just replace it with the bearing inside the drive cup. The only thing I did was flip those cone washers backwards so instead of () from the manual, I installed them the other way round like this )( as recommended.

They work flawlessly with the diff and so far, and the diff action is really smooth. I will have to go run on the track a few times to see how much longer they last compared to a regular bearing, but Im having high hopes for them

Is this a shorty battery and who makes it?

If you look at his car in the previous page extensive trimming to the rear part of the body is needed to fit the body on the chassis and the hole for the body post had to be drilled at an awkard locationg, right where the body starts to curve down. Im sure with enough cutting the body will fit no problem

Bill Jerich. You had that FX flying today. Fun to race with you in the main. See you at the next stops of the CTS.

Ok, starting the build. First thing it says to sand the edges of the chassis and apply ca glue. Do I need to do this?

You don't need to, but sanding the edges will be easier on the hand when you pick up the car. The edges wouldn't be too sharp.

The edges wouldn't delaminate easily if you seal the edge but front and back of the car is protected by the wing. Unless you crash spectacularly, which delamination is the least of your worries, you don't have to seal.

I would just sand the edges
