Ran with CRC's Brian Wynn this last weekend at the PKC race in North Dakota. He was so very helpful and a credit to CRC! He taught me so much!
Thanks so much

Anyone have a feel for differences in handling between having the battery all the way forward, inline, with esc and rec behind the battery, and having the battery transverse rearward, having the esc and rec. just forward of the battery?

I have run mine both ways and prefer transverse in all conditions. It keeps the rear end planted. I've run the SpeedMerchant, a CRC LE and a VBC Lightning 10. The CRC was run with in-line forward, in-line back and transverse back. It is currently transverse back and very quick.

Brian said that going soft in springs and dampener fluild is the way to go. As I got the car softer it handled better and better.

I have the CRC WTF-1 FC16. It is converted from the original WTF-1 which was inline only. The switch to transverse was noticeable as the car lost the tendency to diff out on corner exit. I started with the battery transverse and forward from full back about 3/4" and the car was very good. I moved the battery to the full back and the car got a little tail happy on mid to late corner braking. This was without any other changes and was done as a test.
Now I need to figure out how to set up the layout in the car to test in-line with this chassis. It maybe that the real change was the wider spacing of the links.

Thanks for the tip. We have been doing that at our track as well.

Going to change the layout in mine from inline to be like my S120LTR, and try that next time. Won't be this weekend, going to Motorama to play in the dirt, but I'll try it the following weekend.

Is there a conversion kit for this? How would you make traverse battery work on the s100 ltr?

So dumper - when is the new car going to be available?

The entire rear pod is the same as the S120LTR 1/12th scale, which runs a transverse battery. Just going to have to tape the battery in place. I also use some thin double sided tape to keep the battery in place. I usually never take the batteries out of either car to charge them.
