or

Maybe a better question is what's the advantage, if any, to running a receiver booster versus a separate receiver pack... I'm thinking of something like a 6.6v 220maH li-fe pack. I appreciate your feedback.

Page 1 post 1

-Speed Control – Any ROAR approved spec class (blinky) speed control in “blinky” mode. NO RECEIVER PACKS. You may use a specific 1 cell speed control, or a two cell speed control with an external booster. Stock 2 or 4 cap banks that come with the ESC's only. There will be a limit of 10,000 micro farad on cap banks.

This car has been stellar. Great corner speed out of the box.

If I can get them to run WGT here that's the car I'm getting. I just switched to a Rev 8 for 1/12 after hearing everyone rave about it. Would like to try it in 1/10 too.

Yes they work with a Tekin.
I run the HK booster with mine by calibrating the esc with a 2S pack before I install it, then select the 1S check box in the hotwire settings, then tape the power switch somewhere a helpful corner marshal can't get at it and install the booster. No switch, just plug in the battery and drive. The esc gets pretty warm if you turn the switch on.

HW Juststock is exactly the same.

I have been running the RCDynamics booster for the past six years and they work flawlessly! Never had one fail. They are tiny. Smaller than a MRT transponder and only weigh 6 grams.

The only downside is they come from England, however shipping is fast and they are a bit expensive. $49.00

As for an cheap and works VERY well ESC with No booster try a Hobby Wing - Just Stock or JR10. I know they say two cell but you can run them without a booster. We have been running them for awhile both in road course and Oval(with NO booster). If you want a booster Hobby Wing has one also.
