Per request for a pic. As raced at this year's IIC.

Using an Orca 1S ESC, PFM-10 body and aluminium body posts, the car is balanced side-to-side without any ballast weights. Weighs 1028 grams while minimum is 1025 grams.

With the battery down the middle I had my esc in front of the motor under the damper tubes

Thanks guys! I had been planning basically the same set-up as you all have mentioned...Just need to get it done now and mount & paint a body...If anybody else has any chassis pics - please share them! Thanks again guys!

I took both my conversion SE and a new R/T to the IIC.

For my initial testing at 702 Raceway, both cars were very similar in performance. However, afterwards at the IIC, I checked weights of them and found the SE was 40 grams underweight at 985 grams while the R/T was 1020 grams (before I replaced the body posts which added 8 grams).

So, after adding 40 grams to the SE conversion, the nod went to the R/T as my choice for the IIC. The R/T will also be my choice for asphalt racing because I intend to run (test?) with a transverse battery position for lower traction situations on asphalt.

Hope this helps.

Default Same set up?

Bill, did you run the same set up?
My ending set up on the LE was very soft and it handled well, but I did have the F1 rear slider pod which made it a tad long. This effected the steering in my opinion

R/T was a tad more responsive than the SE with F1 rear slider pod.

Otherwise, both cars had the same motor, timing and gearing.

The R/T brings the wheelbase back closer to the original. I had the conversion plates (three holes in the bottom) and it lengthened the wheelbase about 4mm. My car was the original GenX
The new car is more responsive especially with the battery transverse.

Runs good. My only complaint is that we couldn't get them at our LHS till the Friday of qualifying in LV.

What would people's thoughts be if we were to go to 13.5 1s on tracks 80 feet and longer? Please be honest. If you want your opinion heard privately, feel free to PM Me......

I ran 13.5 at IIC for a practice, and I thought my car handled exactly the same, just a little quicker in a straight line. Granted that track was huge, and not the most technical layout ever, but it was fun.

Anyways, let us know what you think.

We heard ya'll tried it at Vega. We tried it awhile back at our track. One of our complains from some of the guys was the class was to slow compaired with us running GT17.5 foam. We would probably get those drivers back if we went to 13.5.
My opinion would be if we ran both classes at the birds sort of like stock and modified in the old days that would be great. If you want we could try that down here on the birds track minus the subfloor at the Turkey race. Or we could try it again weekly on our smaller track with the subfloor.
I guess I'll need to order a stator for my motor to convert it to 13.5. We'll try it again .

It would have been if this had been followed up on when it was first suggested.I waited & waited & just bought a new 17.5. Other than that I'm fine with it.

I've always been a proponent of sticking with the original recipe. WGT has been 13.5t 1s for quite a while so why change it just because the tires and bodies had changed. I think 13.5 adds more opportunity for passing for both large and smaller tracks. I ran mine with a 13.5 on the Fresno outdoor track and it was a lot of fun. Grant it, I was the only one with a WGT-R so I was forced to run with the USGT cars. I still took 3rd! Many of the races I've seen and viewed the results of, were just a freight train with practically no passing. The only passing was due to mistakes and then the driver who made the mistake had almost no opportunity to recover. Maybe have an FDR limit based on the size of the track and let the power plant be 13.5 for all tracks. That would be interesting. Top end for biggies and grunt for the smaller tracks.

I wish that it was 2s with a 21.5 or 25.5. With the low profile shorty 2s batteries getting close to 4000mah, I think it could work.
Has anyone tried 2s non-LCG shorty batteries with taller standoffs? I am concerned that it might significantly change the handling.

Body off chassis photo of my World GT-R car from the IIC. Routed wires to keep them as short as possible (especially to the LiPo) and keep the pod free side-to-side.
