If you ever make it to Daytona Beach- we have an awesome indoor track (with new CRC carpet and subfloor). Like I said I'll be glad to help you out anyway I can.Bodies I'm trying the Nissan Silva out this coming weekend. If it does not work out for me it's back to the C6 Vette. You can send me your email and I'll send you pictures of my car- I've not mastered doing it on rctech.

It's actually a Troy Mckune chassis that he used to make a few years back. I'd like to see him re-release this conversion since WGT cars are getting a rebirth with the new rubber tires.

So far I really like the Caddie body as long as you cut the wing to the higher line. Now that you mention the picture posting problems, I think I should make a youtube tutorial on how to edit and post pictures on forums. It's pretty easy actually.

Whereabouts in Daytona Beach is the track? I lived there (Ormond Beach) for 3 years in the early 2000's. Might be able to manage a trip down there later in the year I'll send you my email via pm.

Excellent. I've been in that area before. My Aunt lives off Nova Rd so will have an air conditioned garage to crash at for a week or two.

Does anyone have picture on how to mount the tires? Found out some are cutting rubber off and some aren't. What works best?

I've done both as have a couple of fellow racers at our club. After trial an error and finding no real advantage, leave the rubber on and mount the flap to the outside. Make sure you glue the bead of the rim and not just the rubber flap on that side of the tire.

GT Style, lip cut off and rough edge on the back of the rim.

NASCAR/F1 style, lip left on the face of the tire and mounted facing out.

I've got to imagine the GT style would be better where a lot of contact takes place like on carpet. That's been a common problem with F1 tires gripping the boards when you touch them.

That's Dumper's personal ride. HPI 7036 Porsche 911 GT1.

I've tried the tires mounted both ways. The pipes will grab the F1 style rubber a bit harder, but the body is usually close enough to be a buffer and not flip your car over riding up the pipe. There is no contact patch performance difference grip wise. The GT style mounting does make the car 2mm narrower as the tire now lines up with the front of the rim instead of hanging over. You can get a few of the narrower 190 Sedan bodies over that config. With the premounts you don't get a choice, but you also don't have to glue your fingers together.

I thought those two bodies looked like dumpers. As I never thought two people would paint them the same. What I've found out with the GT bodies and the pipes: with the heavier cars (WGT-R) you can't hit the pipes to get off the pipes. Now with the lighter foam cars you can do it.I've had both the u-mount them and now pre-mounts. You just have to stay off the pipes.
