Yes 4 of us race at the Roadrunners in Camarillo, ca this past weekend. The car was great, worked on shocks and springs and of course gearing. And there looks to be 3 maybe 4 more drivers getting their cars going and there is a group running at TQ and several of us are going to Cal Raceway tonight to for the Tuesday Test and Tune.

I have changed the 10R5.1 to a 3 VCS style shock car, I really like the feel and response more then the springs and damper tubes.

So far I am running
5 degree on caster, but I going to change to 10, to try and get more steering entering the corners.
20 front springs, with 2k on the kingpin
27.5w with Silver side springs
30w with Blue spring (center)
chassis is 5.5 in front and 6 in rear

Gear was 84 with 45, but I liked the 43 better, more infield.

Hey Scott- Thanks for the info. That all makes sense. Our Jag XKR is very form fitting on 190mm cars. The MX-Stang is closer to 200mm and all of our VTA bodies should be fine and are intended for 200mm. With a variety of chassis' out there, that may be the determining factor. Most Pan Cars have some adjustment on the rear track, don't know how the WGT cars are???

Fun stuff! Only 3 car in the video, 4 total running at the moment, but what a blast. Mine is the GT-R painted to look like BRE Racing.

Things are headed towards a return of the SWT Series, but for
2017 the focus will be on the Encino Velodrome (and dirt oval racing)

I do have a question, is there a reason that the rules are setup with 1S as the battery and not 2S? Just wondering what the thought was behind that?

The car originated from 1/10 onroad racing. They used 6 cells in the day, but the brushed motors were not anything like the brushless motors we have today. They had foam tires and the current oval configuration morphed out of this. Then it was decided the cars were way too fast and the battery was reduced to 4 cells (4.8 volts) and things were sort of trying to start again. It had totally died with the 6 cell configuration. So 19T became the motors and the cars were still wicked fast as my friend Bruce would say. As the lipos came in the battery became a single cell (3.7 volts), the same as 1/12 scale. And the brushless motor became a 13.5 because that was the new designation for super stock, just as for 19T. Now we are changing the tire to a rubber tire. So the thought is to use the 17.5 motor because the 13.5 might be to fast for the drivers that are targeted for this class. These drivers were targeted for VTA when that began, and as it transitioned into USGT. Those two classes have been successful so that model is being used again for a pan car that could become incredibly popular. I have left out a lot of detail for the early days because I don't think it will lend anything to the answer to your question. But, in short, that is the chronological list of events leading to where we are now.

Could post pics of your car with the 3 shock setup?

...had to chuckle at the 1s answer just a little -

You know why Don...c'mon! SMALL/SHORT/CARPET tracks

I think we could do 21.5 or 17.5 2s at Cal and / or Cam...if the tires GRIP

Not to mess with a good thing, but it could be helpful for the World GTR to follow along the same lines as the F1 cars and other 1/10 cars. Common batteries and ESCs would could make it easier for drivers to enter the category.

I would have to agree w/ Rick. I would totally get into this class, IF.....it were 2s. I don't want to have to buy all new batteries and speedos, just to join in.

I agree. Let 1S 17.5 and 2S 25.5 run together in WGT-R. I would like to run the class, but I race USVTA, USGT, and F1. All with 2S setups. I'm ready to go in WGT-R but will not pull the trigger on 1S setups.

I would have to say 1s 17.5 on carpet is perfect!

We had 2 heats last weekend and racing was close every run.

We did, not on purpose, have 1 guy run 13.5.
It wasn't controllable and way too fast.

Maybe on big outdoor tracks 2s is OK, but carpet tracks, no.

I'm looking at this class to be something to bring people into the hobby and keep them

I hate to say it but Dumper did OK with the rules package....
