1/12 Dynamic front end setups for racing
 

Whats the hot setup for running the dynamic front end for 1/12 scale racing? Mount the servo flat or on the angled mounts? What degree uppper arm mount runs good? Im running a speed merchant Rev 4.

give us some info about what you are racing on, how grippy it is, the temperature, what motor you are running etc etc.

Also you will probably get a better response if you post this on the 12th scale thread or the rev 4 thread. I am currently running the rev4 with the new assoc front end.

Larger size track with medium grip and running stock class. Im runing the "old School" front end now and getting tried of breaking, shimming and changing it all the time.

I have a buddy running Frank's delrin upper arms and aluminum caster blocks on that front end on a t-fource. Nice stuff. That may be an option for you.

Running lowered steering blocks which you have to grind and machine the front arms to get proper steering. It makes them very week in certain areas. This is all done so I can run small front tires.

I was doing that last year, I never had an issue in stock but you are a little slower in stock so not as much impact force. I'll be building a stock car like that soon.

You might want to try 5 deg reactive, .022" springs with full castor to start out. Then if you want to make it turn in harder try .020" springs and or 10 deg reactive. i have been using angled servo mounts to reduce bump steer. Remember though, the new front end is a little heavier.
