Metal Sealed Bearing Information
I am looking into purchasing metal sealed bearing for my TC4 and have a few questions.
Are metal sealed bearings better than teflon sealed for free spin?
What is the maintenace schedule for cleaning and lubricating? I run foam tires on carpet. Ex. every race, every race day, every month ....
Would there be a different maintenance schedule for wheel hub bearings than the outdrive bearings in the sealed diff case?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Metal shielded bearings offer less resistance, but they are harder to keep clean. The seal is easier to penetrate, making maintnence more vital. An RPM bearing blaster should keep your bearings happy. Teflon bearing seals are a good option for those looking for longevity and rolling resistance. Rubber bearings are best suited for extremely dusty situations and off-road vehicles.
