Default BSR 35 shore foam tire test on Mugen MGT7 = 108 MPH CRASH

https://youtu.be/Qv7iQHNfZqw

I was hoping to gain some speed from the larger BSR 35 shore foams. The car lost control and starting rolling as soon as I hit full throttle. Surprisingly very minimal damage besides 2 cracked SMC batteries. I guess its back to my trusty GRP tires.

That slash looks much faster when not going uphill. What were the damages?

I've said this before and I will say it again, people need to stop using public roads for their r/c speed runs. It is not a matter of if, but a matter of when you either hurt someone or damage someone's property.

I wish everyone success in their pursuit of speed, but do everyone else a favor and find a controlled area away from the public to break records.

The streets that most of us use, at least the streets me, phildoggg and twisted metal use are very secluded. I dont know how much more secluded of a road you can find. I usually spend at least 2 to 3 hrs at the street I use every Sunday, and there may be on average 2 cars that drive thru the whole time I'm there. Not much danger there in my eyes. Its not like we wouldn't go to a nice unused airport runway if we had access.

Yeah i would love a nice smooth wide airstrip to use every weekend. I just don't see it happening. I talked to our local airport about hosting a event there. lol no go. that is why we are in the streets.

It would be great to have access to an airstrip here in the bay area, CA. But regular roads are all I have access to. Even official ROSSA speed run events in Australia and Maryland are held on public roads.

Getting my speed run Rustler together, and wondered what ESC would be good for running up to 8s with a 2200kv? New to the game, and want to spend the money the right way the first time around. Thanks guys! Brandon

Most people including myself use the Castle XL2. Be very careful with temps if using a 2200kv motor on 8s!

Yeah I'll second the xl2.. add additional caps to it and try and keep the battery wires short as possible. they are way long in stock form.
