Hi OVA,

It does seem they are out of stock most places, but I did find some in stock at Apex RC Pro Shop:

https://www.apexrc.com/electronics/motors/motiv-m-code/

A Motiv M-Code in an X1 sounds like a great combo!

Just wired up the Motiv 21.5 into the USGT car. WOW!!! I haven't put it on the track yet, but just some bench testing, this thing has tons more torque than my Hobbywing did. It just sounds faster.

On a different note, the Motiv 25.5, was it built to meet ROAR specs, and has it been submitted for approval? I like USVTA being a single motor option class, but if they open it up to ROAR motors, and if the 25.5 is anything like the 21.5, I know which motor I want to get.

Merry Christmas to all.

Hey professor,

I checked ROAR's website and their forums and it doesn't appear that they have any ROAR approved 25.5s from any manufacturer at this time. The forum they have shows when motors are submitted, reviewed and approved so you kind of get to watch the motor go through their process. They have a section for 25.5 but there are no posts in there. I'm not sure when ROAR will begin approving 25.5s but it does at least seem like they plan to at some point. I'm sure Paul will submit his 25.5 for approval.

Glad to hear you like your 21.5 so far!

Motiv had a good week last week in St. Louis, taking the win in 5 total classes. It was a sweep in touring car, with wins also in stock 12th scale and F1.

Good luck to the Motiv crew going to the Snowbird Nationals in a few shorts weeks! Robbie Dodge, Craig Xavier, Drew Ellis, Mitch Witteman, Steve Sohl and Paul Lemieux, among others, will be in attendance!

It's a bit late, but I just wanted to congragulate Robbie, Jan, X, Mitch, and everyone else who had success with the M-Code motors and Defy batteries at the Snowbirds. I wanted to throw the motor setups everyone moved towards over the week just so people here have a good idea for a starting setup for an average sized carpet track, on the new CRC Gen II carpet. See below:

Shoutout to Robbie for the pic.

What FDR are you guys running in 13.5 blinky asphalt indoor track technical with 100ft straight medium grip or what is a good starting point, at the moment running 4.22 @ 49deg bell timing temp around 70 deg c. Still chasing the R1's but definitely gaining on them.

Yokomo BD7 2016.
