Default The Tamiya MF01 X Chassis Thread

I cant find a thread about this new chassis so I thought I would start one

http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/58614/index.htm

Here is a full review and detailed build

http://www.thercracer.com/2015/08/ta...imny-jb23.html

Mine just arrived, really impressed. It's a 4WD M-Series chassis with the 3 adjustable chassis lengths (210mm, 225mm and 239mm).

It also allows you to raise the height for rally (Thats the X version).

I'm building mine now, but this little car looks to be pretty cool.. although you do need a lot of bearings

I've been looking at the onroad setting and I can set it as low as my Mini and the chassis also has downstop settings.

And importantly, it takes square pack

Cool, keep us posted!

If you can lower it enough to run a Tamiya Rover Mini body without weirdness, I'd be interested in getting one myself.

Looks like a cool car.

I can't see it for sale on any online sites.

How will this thing handle off-road stuff?

I've seen it in pictures. It has a resemblance to the bulletproof TL01. Good chassis.

Keep us updated Craig, can't wait to see it at Cheshire Cats. Will a Mini shell fit with the motor being at the back ?

I've just bought the BSR 4wd Mini from Hobbyking, can't wait to build it.

The mini shell will be a stretch. I will try it though.

I just saw this and found some youtube videos of the MV01 in action.

I recently built the Tamiya XV01 for my son and wanted a similar car for myself. I had considered making a TT02 with high clearance or some modified M05. But this MF01 looks like the perfect match for the XV01. in fact we recognized the wheels from the XV01 kit.

I'm getting one.

Cool, sounds great.

BTW, why do you think it's a stretch? Is there not enough clearance up front above the bulk head causing the car look like a rally car? Just curious.

It's the rear. The motor hangs out of the back of the chassis. The mini shell is quite snug to the rear.

Many other classic m-chassis shells will fit though. The car will be great onroad. It's not just a rally chassis.

I see, thanks for the info and headsup!

Will be keeping my eye on this.
Our club run on road and off road and the Mini class (with 13T Hobbywing Motor/ESC combo) is hugely popular.
I think these things off road could be just as popular. Our track doesn't have big jumps, so these could work quite well.

I've measured it and this MF01X version has 22mm ground clearance on the offroad setting and with std TC wheels and rally blocks

Just ordered the MF01X last night. I also ordered 24 bearings, a Kimbrough servo saver (though I now see it may not fit as it looks like the MF01X has a special one) and the #54000 Aluminum MINI shocks.

I also ordered some Integy generic lexan light buckets and a LED kit. Planning on the round light buckets in the front and rectangle in the back.

The shell is fantastic. It looks great. The X version looks to be a good partner to the XV01. I've took it for a quick spin and I'm impressed

Nice! Does it drive like a miniature CC01 or more like the TL's you guys mentioned earlier on?
