Team driver Tim Wahl posted some very useful tips on Facebook as he worked through building a new kit.

New Graphite Hubs:
Xray have recently released some additional Graphite hubs for the T4 lineup. The 4° Graphite C-Hub has been out for some time and is known to improve steering on entry, and in general makes the car turn better. This has been the go-to c-hub on asphalt for many on the Xray team, though it is not needed on high bite carpet. The Graphite rear hub tends to make the car more stable, especially on corner entry. We are still working on gathering input on the new Graphite steering block, but for the moment feel that it should improve steering response. All Graphite parts are approximately 1g lighter than the Hard or Medium options.

Exactly, that would be great and justifies the price somewhat. IF its only optimized parts, its not.

Well, they kinda dropped the ball on that one. First DCJs as option parts, then they were breaking, then they updated the pins and so on. Time to get it right and put them in the kit (Tamiya offered extra parts in their kits as a promotion, don't know about others).

As far as optimisation goes, I think it may be worth it if they come up with a Yokomo style motor mount (single piece). I would have bought the T4/15 if they did. Now, they have to come with more than that especially if they jack up the price.

Tamiya has them as standard, not as extra parts. They also have the carbon fibre bumper plate as standard. And the car is still cheaper.

Xray do make great cars and they've always been a little bit pricier but this price leap seems strange. Hopefully it's going to be something special to merit the increase.

It'd be nice to see someone do something different. Xray were creative with ARS even if it was a bit hit and miss. Maybe they've something special up their sleeves.

DCJ will be included in the kit now. PSS system will remain a optional part.

I guess if you are convinced it is the key to good balance and low tweak propensity it might be a requirement for you?

The TRF solution is actually quite neat. It's two sided, with the benefit that gives to strength but contact and fixing points with the chassis are central and even left to right. However then tamiya semi ruin it by not making the chassis symmetrical

I was referring tot he kits with the extra parts (sway bars, I don't know what else).

And yes, that is the motor mount I was talking about.

Why is it important for me? Because our track is very low grip asphalt and I like my cars soft.

A solid one piece motor mount would take away grip, it may make it tweak less. My BD715 is really good on asphalt when the grip is high but when it's low the Xray's and Schumacher's are a lot better, a guy runs a BD713 when the grip is low, it's awesome in those conditions, especially in the damp and wet

Tweak was the reason that Xray made the front of their motor mount two separate pieces for the '15, with the '14, in a crash the mount could tweak, but it stayed tweaked, the extra join meant it would return to it's original position more easily.

Have thought about a one piece layshaft mount being better, but not actually sure if it would benefit. The mounts on the Xray do allow some movement up and down so they don't 'pinch' the layshaft bearings when the chassis flexes.
