New Graphite Hubs:
Xray have recently released some additional Graphite hubs for the T4 lineup. The 4° Graphite C-Hub has been out for some time and is known to improve steering on entry, and in general makes the car turn better. This has been the go-to c-hub on asphalt for many on the Xray team, though it is not needed on high bite carpet. The Graphite rear hub tends to make the car more stable, especially on corner entry. We are still working on gathering input on the new Graphite steering block, but for the moment feel that it should improve steering response. All Graphite parts are approximately 1g lighter than the Hard or Medium options.

Option Parts to consider:
XRA301196 T4 Graphite Upper Deck 1.6mm V2
XRA301226 Foam Bumper – Hard - highly recommend
XRA302165 Composite Front Suspension Arm 2-Hole – Hard
XRA302169 Composite Front Suspension Arm 1-Hole – Graphite
XRA302803 1.3mm Front Anti-Roll Bar
XRA303169 Composite Rear Suspension Arm 1-Hole – Graphite
XRA303802 1.2mm Rear Anti-Roll Bar
XRA305137 Steel Solid Axle Driveshaft Adapters - HUDY Spring Steel - highly recommend
XRA305242 Composite Drive Shaft Replacement Cap 3.5mm – Orange – Strong (QTY 4)
XRA305351 Aluminum Wheel Hub – Offset “-0.75mm” – Black (QTY 2)
XRA306191 T4 Graphite + Aluminum Fully Adjustable Battery Holder
XRA308264 4S Spring-Set Progressive C=2.5-2.8 (QTY 2)
XRA308276 4S Spring-Set C=2.7 (QTY 2)
XRA308286 4S Spring-Set C=2.6 (QTY 2)
Specific to Asphalt:
XRA302383 Composite C-Hub Right – 4* - Graphite (ECS)
XRA302384 Composite C-Hub Left – 4* - Graphite (ECS)
XRA308039 Aluminum Progressive Shock System – Set (QTY 2)

Specific to Carpet:

XRA301141 T4 Aluminum Flex Chassis 2mm
XRA302375 Composite C-Hub Right – 6* - Hard ***Modification may be required if they don't have the "ECS" stamp.

XRA302376 Composite C-Hub Left – 6* - Hard ***Modification may be required if they don't have the "ECS" stamp.

XRA303711-O Aluminum Rear Lower Suspension Holder – Front – RF

That sucks , man...

Here is what I did, and you guys might think I am crazy.
After waiting for my packages from rcmart for 3 weeks, I ordered a chassis from apex this morning, and it will be shipped through Usps priority mail.
But knowing Usps sucks, I made another order on apex website for the same item with fedex second day option.

Lol, so totally, I bought 3 alum chassis in the past 3 weeks.

At this point, I really don't care how much I spend. I want it and I want it now.
Without those chassis for tuning, it is pointless to run my car, but I really wanna return to track asap.
My car has been sitting in the box, unassembled for 2 weeks.

Hope I explained my frustrations clearly.

C hub, steering block and rear hubs are the only plastics I've ever broken.

Im gonna try the oem xray alu chassis i think. There is one available at lhs and after shipping taxes pretty much costs the same as avid.
I like the feel of an alu car for sure but the stock chassis is by no means bad. Just a little rough on tires heh.

That should be a great start. Gearing is going to depend on motor and track size, but a 96 tooth spur and 44-48 pinions should cover you regardless of motor and track.

id get 42-48. though with 96 48 is HUGE. 100x40ft we are running 43/92 44/96 46/100 ish combos or 4.05-4.16 on average. some of the guys are down around 3.8 ect but the faster guys over 4 for sure with the modern short stack motors. definitely spend some time on timing adjustment of the motor too. sometimes less is more. cranking to 50+ is often not the answer.

built my 16 with the hard aluminum chassis today.. i didnt really wanna get into any kind of flex alumium as it seems the opposite of what i want by having an aluminum chassis to begin with. so i have the stock graphite and hard aluminum. two extremes. i might pick up the adjustable avid topplate to run with the aluminum chassis or low traction ashphalt ect. but we never really run on what is considered low traction. always sugarwatered.

we changed the layout tonight so i wasnt expecting the aluminum chassis to be great on green patchy traction but it had just th eright amount of slide i was looking for. car felt consistant and that is what im looking for.

ps. no need for belts atm. new stock belts are very free. just take your time assembling the car and it will be free.

Can someone recommend a setup for medium sized asphalt track running 17.5 blinky and Gravity RC USGT Spec tires?

Any one have experience with the graphite F/R arms on asphalt? I hear that they generate more grip? is this true?

looking for some aftermarket C-Clip ECS driveshafts for my T4, I have been looking at the Arrowmax ones I haven't been impressed by any of the Radtec stuff since they have gone away from the Roche brand, never really been impressed with anything from Spec R, what would you guys recommend?

I've been running the same set from spec R for a year with almost no maintenance and have had zero issues. I had trouble with their earlier versions with the set screw but have been very happy with the clip version. I run them on my 13.5 stock and my mod cars without issue

I have done back to back several times now.

When it was hot ie track temps over 50 deg C with the kit arms I found the car felt like it was binding mid corner. Hard to explain but the car would become unstable and just didn't feel right.

When I switched the graphite arms the car generated slightly more mid corner grip and was more stable and consistent.

But I was testing medium vs hard vs graphite C hubs, uprights and arms in winter with track temps less than 10 deg C. The difference between kit arms and graphite arms was not something that I could determine by feel or lap times.

The different between C hubs and uprights was small but still noticeable though.

Anyone have any suggestions for a vta setup or links to some sheets for vta. I'm really struggling trying to find a sweet spot for this X-ray.

What is it you don't like about the Radtech ecs driveshafts? I've some in my t4 which I've yet to try out.

Hey I had a couple questions

On the setup sheet where the wheelbase is what are the 0 1 1 obviously related to hub spacing but what does it tell

And when it talks about o-ring on shaft it relates to inside the body or like up travel limiter

And is there any tips to calming the car down and not be so aggressive
Standard carpet setup
Mixed medium track carpet
TQ raceway

And last starting gearing for 17.5

Thank you
