Default Serpent f180 electric 4wd (FORMULA E 1/8)

Hello everyone ,
I ll start this topic and show a lot and different mods on serpent f 180 ,some of them step by step .
As you know this is a very rare limited production car from serpent so all the mods will be very carefully machined for top results .
The concept is to convert this amazing car to a unic electric and very fast formula car in track .
An electric conversion has already machined and tested as a 2wd but this think needs more traction as an electric car ..... so 4wd conversion will be soon ready

Stay tuned....

So lets start the conversion ...
I ll first show the bl conversion as a 2wd ...as i said the 4wd conversion is on build.

We want to keep the front mechanical brakes (you maybe already know that there is a conversion kit from speed passion but the installation of this kit not aloud the braking servo) we also want to make a motor mount for 1/8 size motors and not for 550 size.

First i ll take off the center aluminum bracket and mill it ...

And this is how it will look like

In this bracket will "rest" the backside of the motor to prevent any flex .

Fantastic! I finally got my new in box F180 nitro with the original .28 Mega engine etc. I've recently built it and gotta say it is a beautiful model. Unfortunately mine will stay as a shelf queen in a glass cabinet as I just can't bring myself to run such a thing of beauty. Mainly as there are no spares anymore. I will look for another chassis from eBay to use as a runner and your conversion would be awesome. We may have to talk dollars

So ,lets start building ....

The aluminum servo platte will move the plastic servo mount 15mm to the rear and 10mm to the side of the chassis so to have more space for the battery and motor.

Motor mount made of 7075 t6 aluminum

...and with battery tray installed...

Hey Koval,

This should be an interesting journey to watch. I'll be sure to tune in daily with my tea and crackers to observe the progress.

Hey Dan V,

You have one of these "new" in a glass case? Thats incredible man! Please, post a pic!

Everything is ready for the 4wd conversion
We deside a front spool set up for the prototype car , a overdrive ratio with one way front diff is possible but first we must build the car and test it .
