i hope this makes sense, it did in my head at least
While that does make sense, does it really reduce lap times that much to haul around an extra 15-20 grams? And while the weight does do something, by the time you reach the 3:30-4:00 minute mark, you would have a higher average voltage than most other racers, making up for the additional "weight" (if you can really call it that), and then providing extra power after that. I just think that the more consistent voltage has a bigger impact than the weight. We should get Danny to answer that question (hint, hint).

Orion do 2600 NiMH cells which run pretty well apparently and are reasonable value - http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFun...n&ItemID=20079

These GP3900 smells strange.

The GP site don't state that exist any GP3900 dedicated for RC usage:

RCMits, the red ones were 1200 SCR's. I think the Yellow ones were 1500 SCE's, but if you didn't take VERY good care of them they would go POOF! Very cool to see when you are 16 .

I think what these guys are saying about the say smaller capacity and higher voltage for stock is if it has the same volts rating or higher than the 3700's, then its average should be the same as a 3700 or 3800 if calculated for only the amount used. Take that with a cell that weighs less, it allows the driver to tune more with weight placement and should help stock out(or reduce the weight minimum of stock class).

But of coarse I still feel STOCK is WAYYYYYYYYYY TOOOOOOOOOOOO fast and should be slowed down a lot(be 1/4-1/3 slower than it is now), but that is a different subject.

In 1978 my RC12E came with a General Electric white stick pack. Probably 1200's . They were really bad.

I think you were lucky to get 1000mah out of those white GE cells!
