The chassis I knew about. I heard about Kyosho having a prototype at AOC. I also heard a rumor that the aluminum chassis lengthens the wheel base. But these short shocks are new to me, and I hope Kyosho produces such an optional upgrade kit. Or are these parts going to be new products from Revolution Designs?

I tried the short shocks this last weekend on carpet, and all I can say is wow. Yokomo short shocks, and X-Ray springs. The handling was night and day difference.

Was curious if there are any red aluminum replacement hop ups for the c blocks, steering blocks and rear hub carriers.

Is any of the Spec R stuff compatible?

Hello all,

Coming from the TF6 platform which I raced here in Greece last year my first test with the TF7 was really positive.

I was blown away from how easy the new car is to drive. The track was really dusty so I cannot yet compare laptimes but the potential is right there!

On Saturday I will have another test and I hope for better track conditions and some other drivers to compare times

Looking at getting into on-road racing and considering the TF7 (if not this, then the TRF419X). Reason for that is I usually use their offroad kits and have no issues with them. Doesn't seem to be much action in this thread. Do not many people run these?
Throughout the thread there was discussion that parts are hard to source and kit seems a bit fragile. Is it still hard to source parts and which parts should keep for spares?
Any other tips would be great. Thanks.

Parts are not hard to source. Kyosho America has the replacement parts and option parts.

In my eyes the kit is not fragile. If your track is made of 2x4, then you might have some issues, but overall my TF7 takes a beating and I run modified. The car has even survived "the kink" at Tamiya.

Parts to keep around, Lower Arms, Steering Blocks, C-Hubs.

I don't suggest using the floating battery mount. It adds weight, and raises the CG.

Overall I like the car, but support is lacking.

Why is the TF7 so damn expensive when it just looks like a red Tamiya. How does it stack up against other cars at the track

The car is very competitive in my local 17.5 class, and very easy to drive. In modified I struggle to find a setup that I like. Due to the lack of support in my area, I switched to Xray for mod. I may try the Kyosho again in mod once I understand setup a bit more...but it was night and day difference for me in modified with the Xray. I learned the hard way about the importance to have support.

I've just purchased a TF7 to run in 13.5 on ashphalt, to replace my trusty old Xray T3. Are there any tips regarding the build or initial setup that people found useful?
