Default Power Supply/GFX Question

Hey,

Just wondering if a 15A 13.5VDC Radioshack power supply would be OK with a GFX (nothing else running off the power supply, just the GFX).

Thanks

Yes, this will be fine. With nothing else attached to the powersupply, as long as you don't charge batteries at higher than 15 amps, you'll be fine.

Make sure you check the specs. I can't remember if it needed a 15amp or 20amp minimum.

tc3blue I think you may need a 23a power supply and up you may want to contact Competition Electronics anything smaller than that might not work

You will not be able to stock motors very well with a 15A power supply.

Charging & Discharging will be fine.

When I'm at home I use a 12 amp supply I got off ebay for $20 with my GFX and its perfectly fine. Unless your trying to run motors that are drawing more than the amperage of your supply you don't need any more.

Keep an eye out for their sales.. Radio Shack has their $99 23 amp power supply on sale for half price quite often, if you're not in a super hurry to get one.

Check the input voltage when you connect it to GFX at DATA Mode. If the numbers are quite stable, then you are good to go.
