Buyer beware...!
I run a LRP SXX Stock Spec V1 with the upgraded Flow board, which removes the 6 volt BEC booster. I don't run an external battery or booster. I'm running a Spektrum radio and JR Z3650 servo off of 1S lipo voltage just fine. Someone else at our club runs a Flow without booster with no issues.

I think I am going to first try to run the Turnigy with the battery in the 1/12th scale car. I would like to keep the flow for my touring car ESC because I am running a savox servo in the touring car and it doesn't like the weak 1A bec that the turnigy has especially when I run a motor fan as well.

Reading the spec compared to the SXX V2 it says that both that speedo and the Flow are rated to input voltages down to 3.7v. IT appears on the face of it that the Flow is a 1S compatible speedo.

I was told that it would not do 1S when it came out, but the latest spec sheet and the experience of racers suggest it will work with 1S.
