Help with ESCs...

I don't know much about ESCs, well just the basics, but don't know which are good, which are bad. I was just looking at the Nosram Hawk Power reverse, since that allows me to run a 19T motor and is waterproof (which is a nice touch as I may be bashing my car around the place on the streets). It's about $60USD. Are there better ESCs for that price?

For around that price you could always get the Duratrax Streak or the Novak Dually. Check www.towerhobbies.com for specs.

Just a quick warning on the trem "waterproof" a weekend or so back I saw an Mi2 equiped with a Nosram Domintator EVO which was so called "waterproof" go up in smoke on a slightly wet track. ESC's and moisture just dont mix. Receivers and servo's included.

I hate running my car in damp conditions all round, does the car no favours at all.

Ah ok. Anyway, those are good looking suggestions there, but I'm looking for an ESC that also has reverse, since I will be driving it around the streets. It'd get real annoying driving in to gutters and stuff.

I wouldn't suggest anything LRP, but here's a reversible LRP ESC.

The Super Reverse can only handle down to a 14t motor. I'm sure you would want to run something lower then that though.

Are you for or against?

Seriously, i have heard so many complaints from LRP owners and their ESC's it's not funny. QC2's blowing up, AI's frying left right and center, Spheres frying/not working properly.

Novak currently doesn't have a good reversible ESC either.

I love my LRP, but have seen a few go up in smoke. They don't smell to good after that. One the other hand, I've fried-smoked two of my Novak esc's that were supposed to be "racing" esc's. GT7 and Cyclone.

I didnt realise he wanted a reverse one...

I dont mind LRP, i was just laughing at the way you totally contradicted yourself in one sentence

Although i now understand what you was trying to say "i would not recommend an LRP but there is one... bladee bla"

For reverse, checkout the Tekin Rebel 2.
