What is the best way to prep your foam tires? What is a good starting diameter to trim them to to start? I heard some people put CA glue on the ouside edge to prevent chunking, is that done before latheing them or after and do you still round the edge to prevent it from digging in or does the glue help with that. So many questions!!!!!

Most carpet guys will treat tires for racing tires and those used for practice different. For practice most carpet guys I know, including myself start the tires at around 60mm and run them down to the rim. For racing, it all depends on personal preference but most start them lower than 60mm (I do 58mm).

The only way to stop a tire from chunking is to not hit anything or run anything over...that's the only way. Supergluing the outer side wall of the tire will make the tire to have less side bite or grip. Ideally you do this after you use the lathe or when ever you need less side bite.

And yes, always round the edges of the tires!
