Duratex Evader problem, wheels wont spin on ground

Just got a new Duratex Evader (Duratrax Evader EXT2.4 2.4GHZ RTR Trucks, Scale 1:10 ) it ran great for about 15 minutes, battery died, recharged it.

Now it wont run at all. In the air if you apply throttle the wheels spin but you can hear a grinding, on the ground even flat smooth tile the wheels wont spin. The plastic gear box is full of chewed up plastic, I tried to tighten and loosen the slip nut with no difference. Any other ideas ?

Sounds like the spur gear is a goner. Replacement is necessary.

Sounds like the pinion gear to spur gear gap was not set correctly and may have eaten your spur gear. remove the clear cover and look at the spur gear which is the large flat gear. If the teeth are not completely gone you can try resetting the gap. Loosen the motor bolts, get a piece of printer paper, slip it between the gears, push the pinion into the spur and tighten the motor. The paper gives you the required gap.. While you are in there check to make sure the pinion set screw is tight on the motor shaft.
