There are if you decide to use one that big. But that's also just 1 of the components off-setting the battery, the receiver and servo are also lower. Personally I stay away from the big, tall speed controls and run an Orca.

We'll make a change on it, the pictures you see are still prototypes and I am still testing a few variations on the chassis before I settle in on a final "production" chassis.

One thing that I can add is that there is no need for tape when running the car inline. The Uni-mount doubles as a battery hold down when running the battery inline. You basically have to loosen the 2 screws on it at the bottom to slide the battery in and out, but once it is in place, the shock mounting hole section doubles as a battery hold down. This, when combined with the rear brace, locates and holds down the battery on the chassis without the need for tape.
Cool man...I like no tape

How do the RSD center spring rates compare to Associated springs?

Car looks really good!

our center springs are:

5.5 yellow
6.5 green
7.5 Red
8.5 Purple

I believe the AE Silver is a 8.0 lb so in theory it should be right in between our red and purple. I mostly use the green and red on all my cars. Including the XRAY and RR12. Our track is bumpy though.

Awesome! You'll enjoy the car. One of the guys that is testing the protos with me owns a RA and a couple of X12s. He's fastest with the RR12

The car has tons of steering and corner speed.

Thanks
It is a tamiya RMO1/F104 pitch damper while I wait for my team prime shock.
I am building my prototype from scratch, since I don't own a donor car.
I have not raced 12th scale in about 14 yrs. I am really excited about this car.

Sounds and looks great. I can't wait. Will those that preordered one be receiving an update as they become ready to ship?

What's the advantages/disadvantages of using a longer side over a short link? Or vice versa.

We have 2 limited kits left. The difference is they will be numbered and will include a ride height gauge and camber gauge. We have plenty of cars left though.

A longer side link typically makes a car mellower, while shorter increases response
