CRC cars are awesome on low traction. But as soon as the traction gets high they start to do weird things, or even when the car is a couple races old the carbon starts to delaminate inside and the car handles completely different. CRC has some of the worst carbon out there.

Great write up on transverse vs inline Christian! I would completely agree with you. We have been running transverse in modified mostly with super soft setup. For spec I've been running inline because the car is just so much easier to drive and you can't really afford to make a mistake in a spec class!

Glad you like the write up Max, and I am pumped that you agree. Maybe I do know what I am doing after all...

I am slowly trying to build up a collection of blogs with 12th scale information as there is none out there really. I have a pretty lengthy tire article that is almost ready to be published. If you ever want to contribute to it, let me know

Really Max? That's funny, you won more races with our "crappy" carbon than you have won without it.

Very nice, is this a one-off that RSD did for you or a new addition to the current conversion lineup?

I just have to add the pictures and create a product on the site. The file is now done, so if anyone wants one, it's just a matter of cutting a chassis, which takes like 15 minutes. The conversion requires a few bits different, so the price is a bit higher than a regular conversion. I made it so it uses an AE Center pivot, and you also need some longer ball ends for the tubes.

There's a new WGT car out there based off of this kit. You can see it on https://instagram.com/rsd_racing/ until he puts it up on his site.

Got some new items for 12th scale that we have been having a lot of success with:

RSD1219 RSD 12th Scale and 10th Scale Side Spring Set

Rates of :
3.5lb/in
4.2lb/in
4.9lb/in
5.4lb/in

RSD1224 RSD 12th Scale Front Spring Set

Rates of:
10 lb/in
12 lb/in
14 lb/in

All of these fall between AE 0.014 and 0.018 springs, except they are made with 0.45 and 0.5mm wire which collapses less. The length is longer than our gen 1 springs as we feel a softer spring works better than a stiff spring in high bite, so long as it rolls enough and has enough length.

All the springs, and side spring parts will be sold separately as well.

So which side spring is similar to the kit Orange spring? The Orange has been good for me, but I wouldn't mind trying one step harder at times. I'm guessing these are linear feel?

These springs are linear. If I remember correctly the Orange cone spring is around a 4-6 progressive. So the Red and Purple are a good substitute.

The linear springs make the car roll a little more, which I like more, but it is a personal thing, unless the track has high bite, which I think linear is the only way to go.

If you are using the original RR12 spring perches, the hole for the set screw will be a bit big. You can probably get away by gluing the new set screw in place and creating new threads... This is what I did. If you are really anal, it's probably best to get a new rear brace though to keep it really tight.

It sucks that we to change the thread size, but we did this to be more in line with the other cars in the market and also to get a bit more link clearance. All the kits going forward will come with the new perches.

Yeah, I had to slot the right side hole because the spring would hit the side link. The left side was fine. As for hole size, I just added a M3 screw with a thin nut holding it in place. It hasn't messed with spring tension yet. I may try the RSD side spring set since I've been looking for a side spring kit. But so far the Orange has been money. The White has been too snappy mid corner. I think Blue? (not included) would have been a good option up from the orange.
