Default "Modern" shaft drive TC...what's out there?

Besides the EVO6 that is.

I dusted off the old TB02 today and was ripping it around the tennis court. I forget how much fun the instant torque is. Belt drive just can't compare.

I can't be the only one who is tired of the endless supply of T4-ish TC's that everyone is making these days.

Well, there is the Awesomatix and Evo.6 at the top of the heap. Below them is the TB04 and TB03, AE TC4 and TC3, JL10e and Yokomo MR4TC SD. Lower still are the play types like TT02, TT01, and other knock-offs

Most of the tub chassis offerings are pretty long in the tooth. The only modern stuff is the high-end stuff. It's a shame there's nothing in between.

I'm sure I read it here somewhere, but doesn't the TB04 have some kind of gearing limitation that requires modding with TB03 parts?

If you want a cheaper car than an Awesomatix and a better/newer car than a TC4 tub chassis, belts are your only option.

A conversion for the TC4 will soon be available from R-Factor RC.
It will convert the TC4 Club racer, TC4 FT and the Diggity designs DC4 kit to allow for the original motor mount or FT mount.
2.5mm carbon chassis, 2.0 and 2.5mm top plate and can be used with or without Front and rear side braces.

Yeah, those old shaft drive cars from Tamiya, the TB04 and TB Evo VI are relics too.

At some point in the past year or so I think mst (the drifting company) did have a competition level shaft drive car. (Yes, not for drifting, for competition use)
