ORCA vs Hobbywing

ORCA!!!!

I own both.
Spent the first 1/4 of the indoor season with the v3 then switched to the Orca.
For my needs (17.5 touring stock)...the Orca is slightly better.
Brakes feel better and the motor comes off slightly cooler.
Can't go wrong with either one though.

I have not ran any hobby wing speedo's in TC but I have ran a 1S speedo in 12th scale. On the track they feel really really close but the Orca I feel has slightly better bottom end. Throttle is very linear on both models and easy to drive unlike some of the on/off switch speedo's out there. The orca doesnt require a receiver pack in 1S either.
On the 2S side I know the ORCA is the smoothest speedo Ive ran (Although I have not ran a HW 2S speedo). It is easier to adjust than others. All the mod, boosted and Blinky software is built in and no need to upload new soft ware when switching from one class to another. Just use the small program box and its all there in a matter of seconds.
I know Ralph Burch had some issues with his speedo this week at the Paved nats and it thermaling as many mod guys did. He switched out for an ORCA and went on to TQ the race and never had any thermal issues again. He was very happy with it and is going to keep running it.
Josh Cyrul TQ'd 13.5 Sedan with the ORCA in his car as well and also never thermaled his in Mod TC all weekend running a 4.5 motor.
I know a lot of guys at the Paved nats ran the HW as well and never had any issues. It was other brands having issues even in 13.5....a lot of the newest ones were thermaling and taken out of their cars.
Cant go wrong with either HW or the Orca in my opinion.
