Clean RC TRACK
I am working on a 1/10 on-road track, i found a nice place to build the track in but the asphalt is so dusty, i was wondering any good idea of cleaning it.

if you can get water out there
powerwash . . .
powerwash . . .
#3
good idea , i was thiking of doing it but i have to buy long water pipes and extra stuff for the power wash machine.
#4
if u cant you could try using leaf blowers, it helps to some extent getting crap off the track.

ok, how bout this, i had a track poured out of concrete in my back yard, its very slick in the turns, what can i put on the surface to ad traction, not looking for a temp thing like grape soda, looking for like a paint or something... it sux to have my own r & d track that i spin out at every turn!!

grape soda works, if you can pop for it vht. turned our parking lot track (low to med grip) into a track that your feet stick to (tons of grip)

oops didnt read your whole post , cant think of any traction enhancing paints

Crappy landlord of mine used to add sandbox sand to regular paint, and paint their stairs with it for a do-it-yourself no slip surface... Maybe something simular, only use driveway sealer and sand? There has to be a better way, though.

We looked into using some paints that are used on tennis courts, but you have to make sure it is the right kind, I think it was a urathane based paint, but as above it usually has a grit in it. There have been some races on tennis courts around, but some are better than others. The surface I liked was actually laid similar to asphalt. We finaly decided to just pony up and get the asphalt for the ultimate in traction. In two months we have only really sprayed the track the once, and that was only soda. Most of the paints will loose some of the grit, and it can damage the bearings if it is run on alot. There was a race in oregon that was run just before we opened which was the turning point for us. Good luck

Fire Department
Go suck up to the local fire department.
As an excercise sometimes they will take a pumper out and
wash areas off - tell them it is for public affairs and quality
of life and maybe they will wash off the asphalt
