To be honest it comes down to

1.What colour anodising do you like
2.What brand name when you say it, gives you the tingles in the "pringles"
3. Repeat question #1

#4 - Logically speaking, choose the brand supported most @ your local track - it'll most likely one of the top brands mentioned in this thread, and sharing setup ideas will make all of the drivers supporting any brand faster...

BTW - add another vote for the A700L/Evo...

My D06 has been less durable than my X-ray T4. But I've only broken two steering knuckles on the D06. I would still say the X-ray has better quality plastics.

In no particular order.

In all honesty, take a look at the Top 10 chassis from the recent IFMAR ISTC Worlds

The best touring car is a TC4, but it has to have a Novak motor in it.

All that tells us, is the brands the pro drivers are PAID to drive.

I've found my D06's to have had equal durability to my T4. I prefer the D06 as it was also better value for money in my opinion and easier for me to setup. It all comes down to personal preference.

The D07 has quite a few revisions including even stronger plastics. The Aussie VBC team driver, Ryan Maker won a local cup race with the D07 prototype. The result and his feedback show it to be a huge improvement.

One of my club's other open drivers believe the only current competitive cars are the D07 and the 2015 BD7. He said the 2015 T4 is off the pace.

Ryan could drive a wet cardboard box faster than most of us our own cars. The local fast guy here reckons the serpent is the only properly designed alloy chassis. Doesn't make it any more popular. Also means not everyone drives Mod and cares about a ultra competitive chassis.

Top tier it's about the drivers more than chassis although a big team always helps. The worlds are a good example of the true supporters of the industry and shows us who the true copy cat manufacturers who are not represented. Brands like arc, vbc and 3racing won't be around as long as brands like xray, yokomo and Tamiya. Stick with these brands as you will find more locals running these than any other pretty much anywhere.
