If we didn't have to pay extra for baggage in the hold (budget airline) our flights would have been $30
are you able to take all your gear on the flights? lipo,s,additives etc ?

Yes, although there's no point in taking additive as they give you a bottle of it between four of you with your entry as well as a can of Wurth.

Lipo's etc just tape over the connectors and keep them in a lipo sack.

We have noticed that Ryan air have just dropped their hold luggage allowance (which you have to pay extra for) from 20Kg to 15Kg.
I would struggle to meet that.

When travelling by air to a race, something which alot of people don't think about is thier race bag. All these huge Hudy, fast tax etc big square pit boxes/bags weigh an absolute load. Like 4-5kg empty.

The best option is either a regular clothing suitcase, with everything in it's original boxes and bubbles wrapped, or using one of the HPI savage hauler bags, they come in at just over 2.5kg I think. That's what I've always used when racing abroad. Even including warmers and solder station my race bag never comes above 16kg really.

Car and radio always go in hand luggage for me for safe keeping.
