I have the Pro Spec.

The Pro Spec is an R1 with the additional extras:

Different chassis,
Different top deck,
Thicker shock towers,
Aluminum Central Servo Mount,
Aluminum Fan Mount,
Soft Shock O-ring.

All parts are interchangable. I buy most spares from RC Mart and direct from Spec R.

If you're in the US, TQ Racing stock parts and are supposed to be good.

Thanks man it looks like tq racing has most part.

Any chance you can hit me up with those part numbers? Looking at buying a used spec 1 and wondering if its going to pay to buy it and replace the parts to pro spec or to just buy the kit new.

If you run on high traction carpet, the R1 might be better for you than the R1 pro spec. I have the pro spec, and found it to be very flexible. The R1 has a stiffer chassis and top deck than the pro spec. If you run on asphalt, the pro spec might be the better car for you.

I've ordered parts from tqrc, rcmart, as well as directly from spec-r. All have been good to deal with.

There's already a thread going for the Spec-R R1 here in the "On-Road" forums...there's over 200 pages of posts...
