Default Magnet Zappers and Slugs - Need Input

I picked up a magnet zapper from a guy exiting the hobby. The thing is a boat anchor and I wanted to zap a few cans and experiement on the dyno.

There are no instructions, so I need some input.

1) I understand from Jim's Black Book that you should zap a can with a metal
slug installed in lieu of the armature and that you just don't zap a motor with the armature installed.

2) I suppose you use a compass and align North and South poles on the can with the zapper.

3) Heat is the biggest enemy of motors, so they need zapping during a major rebuild, skim.

Where can I get a ferrous slug made and what else is involved in can zapping?

What type of zapper is it?

ERP? Team1?

If its a ERP.....just throw it away....you are better off rubbing refrigerator magnets on your motors to rezap them....
