Am using the tekin 2650 kv motor esc combo on 4S. Tried with 16T pinion today and it was awesome. Nearly equals the other on 6s with a hobby wing 2000 kv motor and the bonus is the 2s batteries are a third the price of the 3s ones.

Next test is with a 17t pinion.

HI everyone
running a TEKIN RX8 Gen2 ESC , my Pekin engine broke down and would like to know your advice on a new engine ; I was using a 1900 kv , with 3S Lipo , Pinion 15T on a 977e and was pretty happy with the combo ...
Wondering if you have some other brands tested in this set-up
Thxs

are you running 3s or 6s? because 3s on 1800kv will be slow. im running dual 2s batteries(4s) on a 2650kv without issues and its very quick

I do not blame Tekin , I am not experienced enough in EP cars to say it comes for the engine . I maybe made mistakes in the cable whelding or ESC set-up or any others
was just disappointed when occured

Well i wish the best of luck to you. Maybe you'll have better luck next time around, send the old motor back to tekin and maybe they will send you a new unit. They have always done right by me.

Finally found time to post here, not only FB

Racing with 977e is fun! Still need to do little work on setup (understeering) and more time on the tracks.

MORAC Graz this weekend:

Very nice! What motor and ESC do you use? Is 4S the normal battery configuration for your races? Are the other racers running the 977e or are they running other conversion?

I use modified HW 150A Xerun and modified Trackstar 1900. I run 6S.

Here are the results: http://www.morac-graz.at/rennen/2015...F_Ranking.html

Buri racer: http://www.rctech.net/forum/nitro-ro...sic-class.html

4S running in MORAC for 7min with 977e could be very demanding on the motor. 6S runs much cooler.

I wanted to try a higher kv motor for my motonica RS3 which I only plan to run on 4s as the 3s batteries are so expensive. That's good to know about the Tekin as that was another option but they are crazy money!
It is great to see another motonica rs3 owner as I have the same car.

This is a good thread, subscribed!
