If the report is true there are 4 things that come to mind.

1. Why would they release an update to the TCXX so close to the announcement of the new car, if the new car is belt drive?

2. If the car is belt drive, I feel bad for those that bought the WAY over-priced update that is probably only going to end up being just $100 - $150 less than a the new kit.

3. HB/HPI finally realized that the design of their suspension parts that are almost 10 years old might be oudated and due for some new engineering.

4. Belt??? Really??? Very dissapointing. If you keeping old thought patterns going, might as well kept the old suspension parts and saved some $$$ on R&D and the cozt of new molds.

You guys running slow classes are so funny with your shaft-driven chassis expectations!

HPI is about to produce a new plateform for World classes, it won't be based on 17.5 or 21.5 spec classes... What I find really strange is that the TCXX plateform is not out of date... So what kind of innovations are we talking about? Mass repartition? Shorts dampers? Different steering system?

Just wait for first pictures, we don't have any other idea about what's coming!

It will be interesting to see what type of solution that HPI has developed. Regardless of their efforts, I doubt it will be a one size fits all classes design. Hopefully it will come with all the necessary performance parts in the kit and be a reasonable price.

I was disappointed with the HPI F10 car with the cost of the upgrade parts. When you factored in the cost to make that car competitive with other brands, it just made more sense to buy the other brands.

I dont understand why people around the world say America is a small market and doesn't need to be considered. I will accept the argument that America might be the smallest single (TC) market, but when its at least 15-20% of the entire market. And when 95% of Amercica runs some sort of spec class, its difficult to ignore. As a business, HPI, XRAY, TAMIYA, ECT., cant afford just to dissmiss the U.S. and what drivers here are looking for in the next gen chassis. There are very few companies out there, of any sort, that could stand to loose 15% of their business.

For touring sales i doubt it is 15-20% of the market. The EU and Asia are much bigger. North America is probably 7-10% of the world market for touring car.

It's about HPI/HB rewriting the books that will bring upon a revolution in TC design. A huge hurdle because it will be pointless if it's not better than the current contenders. It also shows people are fed up with looking at the same designs as manufactures copy one another.
