Like you say the race stuff early on was all HPI not sure anything was sold under the Hot Bodies brand now just HB

Pro 5 owners better jump on this. It might be the last chance you have to spare parts!

maintaining huge pools of sponsored drivers has costs that must be weighed vs sales. looking at the number of choices available in competitive cars, racers imo, are more scattered than ever, brand loyalty is short lived.

imo, Ty probably has one of the largest $$ sponsorships with HPI/HB that only few drivers obtain, like Tebo with Kyosho, Cavalieri with AE, etc. etc.

they are in a sense RC preachers, wins = converts = sales

appears they are doing a mass onroad dump http://www.liverc.com/news/announcem...HB-HPI_Racing/

high traction offroad ozite, astro turf, etc, may be robbing interest in TC?

The number of companies making a TC indicate the opposite. HB's problems are of their own making. Bringing out a new race chassis after fostering years of negative sentiment with their non-existent parts support wasn't a great idea, especially when they seem to have done little to rectify that issue. Sad given the number of loyal supporters that company has. Perhaps somebody at HB can come on RCTech and post a sob story about how the wife was sick and couldn't get the parts shipped out? Seems to be a common and accepted excuse among RC companies with a track record of abusing their customer base.

Can someone explain the differences in the optional shock towers?

It doesn't matter what program they endorse at the way the current parts availability is. Well, it maybe doesn't affect the racers...

You are pretty much right on all counts. Off road pays the bills for all US based companies. On road segment is just a shadow of it's former self...

A picture with your post, when trouble shooting, will probably get more rctech help than without...
