There are plenty of parts available. They now use Great Planes as the exclusive distributor, if your lhs orders parts from them they will arrive.
It is true there was an issue while they were revamping the company.

The future looks promising and HB wants to revive its onroad division

I have faith in my lhs (superior hobbies) acquiring and stocking parts for the upcoming pro 5.

Hpi parts have been in decent supply, but Hot Bodies have had issues, even being with great planes. Maybe they are killing off the HB line, maybe thats why Hara left. He pretty much started the HB line. They (probably for the good though) killed his baby.

All the new race cars have been HB, the Pro 5 is also an HB brand.

Good catch. Didn't even realize it was hot bodies pro 5 and not hpi pro 5. That does kind of worry me because it seems hot bodies is mainly overseas and hpi branded rc's are common in the US.

Sure doesn't sound like a refinement by their press release.
Oh believe me, that's a beautiful piece of marketing article...I thought of a total re-invent of the touring car market from those sentences as well. Let me know what you think when we see the pictures thursday

Yeah but the difference here is the promise of a rethinking of the current design of the TC platform. With the X-ray the hype is the equivalant to Apple putting the headphone jack on the bottom.

Will we see a pic before the car takes the track in FL for the World's? Has anyone confirmed if Andy Moore will be running this car?

I just completed an aluminum conversion on my old HPI PRO 3. Now I have to put aside money for a PRO 5, which I've been anticipating for years now. I hope its something radical in design. The current designs are to similar across all current touring cars. I haven't purchased a new TC because of this reason. I feel like it wouldn't matter what brand I purchase when the design and build is pretty much the same. So glad to know the new one is coming. Really looking forward to something different.

actually HPI bought the Hot Bodies name from a body maker in New Jersey about a year or so before the cyclone first came out...

hot bodies existed long before Hara join HPI and brought their racing division to the mainstream...I used to race with the original owners of Hot bodies - before they sold the company and moved to warmer climates
