As announced some days ago Yokomo soon have the 2015 version of their highly successful BD7 electric touring car available. Based on the previous kit the 2015 model will offer both stability and cornering speed for both Modified but also Stock class racing where regulations restrict maximum speed. To achieve this the 2015 car offers greater flex in the bulkhead area, a configuration that pioneered with the BD7 series. The BD7 2015 further evolves that trendsetting concept by lowering the centre-of-gravity with the bulkhead covers, and enabling a variable adjustment of the front and rear grip balance by attaching or removing newly-designed cross bulkheads. These features give the car much higher cornering speed.

Furthermore, the newly-designed motor mount, battery holder and chassis contributes to the improved roll characteristics as does the new battery mount which holds the battery in place in a special way that does not disrupt the torsion characteristics of the chassis, which allows nearly-equal left and right steering characteristics, leading to improved handling and reduced uneven wear of the tyres. New with the 2015 kit is also the ability to run a forward motor conversion for reduced tyre wear which is sold separately.

Been going through the part list. I am not seeing any difference in front spool and rear diff part numbers. Possibly just a running change.

Battery mounts look interesting. Hope they are not too heavy
The forward motor mount option looks interesting.

Waiting for rcmarket to get their pre order up

Not necessarily.

The bulkheads are not kept square by anything apart from the shock tower screws/locating keys. They gave that up and now use the cross brace (X-shaped) to do that job. Seems solid (more solid than before, anyway), but interesting to see what's the weight penalty (not much I imagine), and what impact it has on tweak/chassis flex.

Looks like this will be my new car, since I'm still running the original BD-7.

The front spool has different material front outdrives, rear diff is new, it uses a large o-ring to seal it and does away with the gasket, best info is on yokomo Japan along with a video from Umino
