Default X12 2015

Pretty quiet on this thread. I'm still having good luck with this kit myself!

Me too. I'm very happy with mine. After replacing some of the front end with Associated/ TOP stuff, as others have discussed, I have zero complaints. I ended up drilling some new holes and installed a KO rsx12 servo also.

Same here, Im satisfied with the car and its providing enough fun for me. Im sticking with the front end just because I didnt want to deal with sourcing parts for it (1/12th is not extremely popular in Hong Kong and I dont want to pay for international shipping which may or may not cost the same as the parts itself)

Anyone know if the VBC front end would work? Im sure I can get parts for that easily as a local shop is the distributor for them.

Im running around a 77mm rollout and 30% turbo and Im still begging for more speed at my local track. Time to jack up the turbo even more.

We have also tried Vbc parts and Xenon parts as well.
Seems like my question was answered in the previous page...Haywood, does the VBC front end work just ask good as AE or TOP or Xenon parts?

I noticed you didnt mention the bulkheads, will the stock xray one work?

I would definitely go for the smaller 78 or 76T spur gear.

I was recommended a 70mm rollout for a 10.5T and Ive seem people run a 95mm rollout for 17.5T. In order to get these crazy rollouts you need a small spur and large pinion and you cant do that with the stock 98T spur.

Im running a 78/40 on my car right now and still feels slow on my local track. I had to turn up the turbo to around 50% in order to hang with other people

I'd like to put 3-5mm spacers under the center shock mount on the rear pod. The standard 4.2mm ball-end that comes with the kit isn't long enough for anything bigger than a 2mm spacer. I'm having trouble finding a 4.2mm ball-end long enough.

For anyone who's added spacers here: how did you do it?

i think your best bet is to find a female ball end of the same diameter and a screw long enough.

Replace the rod end with the slightly larger version from an Xray touring car (4.9mm), now you can fit any of their ball-end's which come in 5, 6, 8 and 10mm.

Thats what Olly Jefferies did and I copied his.

I'd say get some spurs ranging from 70t-80t and pinions from 48t-56t
I've had good success with a 72 spur, 54 pinion, 41mm tires. Gives me a 96.6 rollout.

The white is PTFE tape to reduce any slop

That's what I was planning on doing. I'll go ahead with it then. Thanks!

EDIT: The white PTFE tape is a really good idea. Hadn't thought about doing something like that.
