Like Jack said, the VTEC cells are the same as the IB cells. Just slightly different shrink wrap. EA Motorsports and DC Motorsports both have them, go to www.teameamotorsports.com or www.dcmotorsports.com.

edit: corrected EA link

well unless LRP is not telling the truth, on their web site they said the cell was designed from scratch.

I can't see any battery manufacturer producing a cell that was just for the RC sport, because it just wouldn't be cost affective. GP/Sanyo etc would of done these years ago if it was.

Thats www.TeamEAMotorsports.com

Yes the IB cells were designed from scratch...Every battery is .but just not for LRP...They were for Intellect Battery...IB for use in something like a cordless product. But they are also tweaking them to work and perform better for RC cars on the high end cells. They are sold under the IB, LRP and Epic label. Maybe others too but those are the ones I know of.

When it comes to batteries everyone likes to claim they have something special to make them look better. The fact is that there are a few companies out there making high end cells that are suitable for RC racing. They will also offer to shrink there cells with your own shrink if you want them to.
