Inspired by FastPete's NB48 conversion to GT8, we decided to convert an EB48 to a GT8e as well. Huge thanks to Ken Lee for donating the buggy for this project!!1!

Conversion parts used:
  • Serpent Cobra GT Front Shock Tower
  • Serpent Cobra GT Rear Shock Tower
  • Serpent Cobra GT Front Bumper
  • Ofna GT-V2 Rear Body Post
  • Speed Power E801GT Shock Body, Cap, Spring and Shaft (can use Serpent Cobra GT shocks)
The shock towers needed to be modified. I used the Tekno shock towers as a template and cut/drilled the Serpent towers accordingly. Same with the bottom front bumper. The shock standoffs, collars, rod ends and pivot balls are all the original parts.

I will post more photos later tonight.

I have been saying for the longest time that this tekno or a losi sct would be the best platform for an on road conversion because they are lighter than a serpent, yet still pretty durable.... I believe the latter are about a lb. and a half lighter. I would love to see u put in a 1300-1400 kv motor and run it on 6s with a 150 or greater amp esc.... I think the heat issues would be minimized... What say you..... I would purchase a tekno on road car if they came out with one....

Very cool car! I am about to convert my EB48 spare car into a dirt oval late model. I think the Serpent towers and front bumper will work well for that too.

Awesome project. We love to see this kind of thing going on! This is what a 'hobby' is all about. Post up some video.
